Gooi Chi Duan is a Partner and Co-Head of the Disputes & Specialist Practice.
Chi Duan specialises in general civil and commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on intellectual property.
She represents clients from a wide range of industries in civil and criminal proceedings before the Intellectual
Property Office of Singapore and the Singapore Courts for the protection and enforcement of various forms of
intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyright, designs and patents.
Chi Duan is experienced in preparing building and construction documentations and handling building and construction
disputes, having advised and acted for developers, architects, engineers, main contractors and subcontractors in
multi-million dollar deals and claims.
She is a regular contributor to the “Doing Business” series of Annual Reports co-published by The World Bank and the
International Finance Corporation.
She is also an accredited Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and a Fellow of the Singapore
Institute of Arbitrators. Chi Duan is also Honorary Legal Adviser to Ying Fo Fui Kun, the oldest clan association
(Hakka) in Singapore.
Chi Duan graduated with a LL.B (Hons.) from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and was admitted as an
Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in May 1997.
