Patent Scientist
Chan Ya Yun is a Patent Scientist in the Intellectual Property Practice.
Ya Yun specialises in chemistry with a focus in electrochemistry, environmental chemistry, polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical
chemistry, and inorganic and organic chemistry.
She undertakes drafting of patent specifications, prosecution of local and foreign patent applications as well as conducts patentability searches.
Ya Yun has published her research in several international scientific journals, including ChemElectroChem and Electrochimica Acta. Her work was
also presented at an international conference held in United States during the 224th Electrochemical Society (ECS) meeting (2013).
Ya Yun graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a B.Sc (Hons.) in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry. She was placed on the
Dean’s List. She was also conferred a Ph.D. by NTU, focussing on the same fields, under a scholarship from the Nanyang Environment and Water
Research Institute (NEWRI).
Ya Yun has also completed the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law jointly offered by the IP Academy and the Faculty of Law, National
University of Singapore.
